To be honest, I thought this site would die a quiet death.

Turns out, it just won’t go, people are still visiting, watching the vids and  sticking around on here. For that reason I decided I would first make this announcement here.

Soon, a couple of LipSlide DVD’s will be made freely available to watch online. Not saying which ones, not saying when, just saying that soon, entire sections from full retail release DVD’s will be here for your viewing pleasure. It’s about time that the love was shared just a little more than what it is now. . .

Things are travelling along nicely thus far, the response to the movie has been overwhelmingly positive and there will be a nice little article popping up in the next issue of Wake Magazine about my trip through the USA filming for the movie. It has lots of words and pretty pictures and a banging layout courtesy of Mr. Sayher Heffernan in the Wake offices down in Melbourne. He is a boy genius with the old MacPro, that’s for sure.

Things are in currently being planned for the next LipSlide Production, so stay tuned to hear more of what’s in store.

We’re kicking things off in true Sunny Coast style tonight, Wednesday 9th at Bli Bli’s Ski and Skurf Cable Park on the Sunshine Coast. For those of you that don’t know, it’s 308 David Low Way, Bli Bli. Food and beverages (alcoholic too!) will be available from the Wake Café. Things should be kicking until late, so bring your dancing kicks! Be there or be square, things start at 7pm.

Friday 11th, it’s down to Fishermans Wharf on the Gold Coast for number two! Finger food is provided and drinks will be available from the bar. Things kick off at 7pm and will no doubt be carrying on into the wee hours. This is going to be a great night on the Goldy, so make sure you’re there.

And last but most definitely not least, Melbourne! Yes! We’re coming back to the old stomping ground! Saturday 12th at the Blue Tile Lounge, 95 Smith St. Fitzroy! Things kick off at 8pm, and will most definitely be kicking way into the wee hours thanks to Cam the bar owner who is totally down for the party and has lined up a live band and DJ for after the premiere. Cam swears the drinks are the cheapest in Melbourne and can’t wait to see us all, so don’t miss out!

Well you all know that the only reason for making a movie is the Launch party, the celebration of finishing it and getting all loose and crazy on the dancefloor with the crew!

So here they are! To start with we’re kicking things off at Ski and Skurf in Bli Bli this Wednesday the 9th January! We’ll be getting things under way by 7pm. Food and Drinks will be availble from the Wake Cafe. Then on Friday night the 11th of January it’s off to Fisherman’s Wharf on the Gold Coast, courtesy of Board M. Again be there at 7pm, finger food is provided and drinks are available from the bar.

There are plans of another two, at this stage tossing up between Melbourne and South Australia for Saturday Night and the last will be in Newcastle. Exact details of the last two are still to be confirmed.

You might be all partied out after New Years, I don’t know, but if you come, make sure to bring your A-Game! It’s going to be huge!

I certainly wouldn’t. . .It’s done. . .the editing is over. . .I’m sure a large part of my sanity is embedded within this movie. After being locked away in this office working the hours that I have (You don’t want to know!) I kind of feel like an alien. I am just about to watch it through one last time, to make sure it’s all in place before I encode it for DVD. And then once it’s encoding I have around about 10-12 hours before I have to burn it. During that time I will sleep and maybe interact with the humans on the outside. That would be cool.

I have done a test of the encoding settings with the menu and one of the Sections and I was amazed. The HVX looks absolutely ridiculously amazing when downconverted to SD DVD. I was blown away. Definitely looks a million times better than Deliberate and Accidental, so I hope you enjoy the luscious goodness!

So the movie clocks in at just over an hour in length. And then there is about half an hour worth of exclusive extra’s, which you won’t have seen anywhere else. I actually went to the trouble to film other stuff and edit it and put it in the extra’s! It’s almost unheard of these days! Then you’ve got the commentary option, which some people enjoy. I enjoyed doing it, I love to talk crap, and that really gives me a chance to do an hour or so of it.

I don’t want to give too much away, but there is an extra on the DVD that you should be seeing on a certain website soon. Probably before you see it on the DVD.

Oh and now for the bad news. . . .I had to push the release date back to incorporate a sponsor that came to the party very late. It was 100% necessary, but that now means that we won’t see Ozinus in stores for Christmas. You will be able to order copies online as of Monday, but as for stores, yeah, no dice. I’d imagine they will be available just before New Year, I’ll keep you posted.

You know that song by Midnight Oil? Times are tough? That’s what life is like lately.

I’m not going to complain, because I love what I do, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a slog. I’ve been at the computer flat out, doing inhuman Final Cut Marathons and Ozinus is now taking shape. I’m pretty stoked with it thus far and the test audiences seem happy with what’s been produced. So at the moment I’d say we’re on the right track.

Now, I’ve been getting a couple of mails from people about the teaser, when it’s going to be out, why I’m a lying bastard who dangles the carrot and doesn’t deliver, and so on and so forth. Well I can say now, that the teaser will be released as soon as the sponsors are finalised. And that will be by the end of the week! So Happy days if you’ve been waiting since I first mentioned it about 2 months ago! I’m sorry about the buggerising around, but it really shouldn’t be too much longer, I promise!

Anyway, I’m back to it. . .Just a couple more things to do and it’s all done. . .Yeah, cutting it fine!

Sections are flying through the timeline and it’s all looking good so far. It should be interesting to see what people think of this one, it’s real different to anything I’ve done before and you’ll definitely learn something you didn’t know about one or more of the lads by the time it’s finished.
